The theory test now consists of a question and answer
part and a hazard perception part.
The theory part of the test consists of multiple choice
questions on a touch screen. There is a practise session
available first. For cars and motorcycles you'll be asked
50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of 50.
The hazard perception part of the test involves you
watching 14 video clips each lasting about a min. You have to
respond to each hazard by clicking the mouse as the hazard
develops. Up to five marks can be scored for each hazard.
The earlier a response is made the higher the score. You
are not penalised for clicking on insignificant hazards. The
pass mark is 44 out of 75.
There are numerous books and CD roms available on the
market which will help with the theory test.
